Landscape with Shepherds and Rider is the work of landscape painter Gabriel Joseph Faistenberger. Here, a striking feature of the strange landscape formation, typical of his paintings, is the unnaturally precipitous mountain to the right of centre. The often flat or rather crude execution, lacking detail, is characteristic of the style of Anton Faistenberger’s brother.
